Free Speech vs Harm Prevention at Ole Miss - National Week of Conversation

This National Week of Conversation, you are invited to engage in a timely and important debate about free speech and community values at the University of Mississippi. The resolution up for debate is: “Resolved: The University of Mississippi deserves a good grade (A or B) for its efforts to balance free speech with the need to protect members of its community from harmful comments.” This event is designed to foster thoughtful dialogue across different perspectives, model civil discourse, and explore how our University can support both open expression and a respectful campus climate. Whether you're passionate about policy, curious about campus culture, or simply interested in hearing diverse viewpoints, you’re invited to attend and be part of the conversation. This event is free, open to all members of the campus community, and is co-sponsored by the Division of Access, Opportunity, and Community Engagement, the Department of Media & Communication, the Center for Practical Ethics, the Declaration of Independence Center for the Study of American Freedom, Bridge-Ole Miss, and Braver Angels.
