BIO
Jess Turuc (she/her) is the Director of Fraternity & Sorority Life at the University of Mississippi, where she oversees one of the nation’s largest fraternity and sorority communities, serving more than 10,000 affiliated students across 36 organizations. Throughout her 17-year career in higher education, she has served on five college campuses, providing leadership in student development, organizational governance, strategic planning, harm reduction, and community engagement. Jess earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Michigan Technological University and a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Georgia Southern University. She is an active member of the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors (AFA) and National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), serves as a harm reduction facilitator for several inter/national fraternal organizations, is a member of the University of Mississippi Chancellor’s Commission for the Status of Women, and serves on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Oxford-Lafayette County. A proud member of Alpha Gamma Delta Women’s Fraternity, Jess is passionate about developing students, building collaborative partnerships, and creating meaningful fraternity and sorority experiences that foster leadership, belonging, and personal growth. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, maximizing her Delta SkyMiles, watching reality television and The Golden Girls, and cheering on the Ole Miss Rebels.
