BIO

Nicholas Shaw is a student at the University of Mississippi pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Allied Health Studies with a minor in Psychology on the pre-nursing track. His academic interests include mental health, public health, and health equity, with a passion for understanding how social, cultural, and systemic factors influence health outcomes. Nicholas has studied global health in both Ghana and Italy, where he examined healthcare systems, health disparities, and culturally responsive approaches to care. These experiences strengthened his desire to continue his education through an accelerated nursing program followed by graduate study to further explore mental health, leadership, and healthcare policy. Outside the classroom, Nicholas is actively involved in student leadership, mentorship, and service initiatives that foster collaboration and belonging across campus. He values respectful dialogue, lifelong learning, and building meaningful relationships with people from diverse backgrounds. As a CLI Ambassador, Nicholas looks forward to engaging with peers across disciplines while continuing to grow as a thoughtful scholar, servant leader, and engaged member of the university community.

WHY CLI?

I am excited to join the CLI Ambassador Program because it provides an opportunity to engage with students from diverse academic backgrounds while strengthening my leadership and communication skills. I look forward to learning from different perspectives and contributing to meaningful conversations that extend beyond the classroom.
