BIO

Stacey E. B. Smith, a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Poland V), earned a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in History (Winthrop College, Rock Hill, SC) and an M.A. in Southern Studies from the University of Mississippi. Her career reflects a longstanding commitment to education, academic excellence, community engagement, and institutional service. As a museum professional, she worked as a registrar at the Columbia Museum of Art; Biltmore Estate; the Gibbes Museum of Art; and the University Museum and Historic Houses at the University of Mississippi. She also taught English as a Second Language through the Peace Corps, Charleston County schools, and the University of Mississippi’s Continuing Education program. She was a FASTrack EDHE Instructor (2016 to 2020). Smith currently serves as Assistant to the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Mississippi, working closely with Dean Lee Cohen and Associate Dean for Faculty and Academic Affairs Don Dyer, providing essential administrative support for faculty processes. Additionally, she supervises the Ventress Hall student workers and Operations Assistant. And served on the Coordinated Community Resource Team Committee (2017–2021) and the College of Liberal Arts Financial Aid Undergraduate Scholarship Application Selection Committee (2020–2026).

WHY CLI?

I am excited to participate in the AY26–27 cohort of the CLI Steward Program; I hope to grow my collaborative leadership skills and enhance my ability to support and serve my colleagues across campus. The programming offers engaging workshops and valuable learning opportunities, exciting avenues for personal and professional development.
