Tucker Hood

BIO
Tucker Hood serves in the position of Research Counsel II with the Mississippi Law Research Institute, housed at the University of Mississippi School of Law. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Southern Studies in 2012, and subsequently taught middle school history for two years in his hometown of Brandon, Mississippi (where he also served as an assistant high school boy’s soccer coach). Thereafter, he lived and worked in South America for one year, teaching English as a Second Language for a semester in Chile, working in intensive English summer camps, and occasionally working the front desk at hostels in Chile, Bolivia, and Argentina. Before attending the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2017, he worked as a Spanish teacher at Pelahatchie High School and as a legal assistant with a Jackson-based immigration law firm. Following law school, he practiced civil litigation in Gulfport, and later with an immigration firm based in Orlando, Florida. He and his wife, Leanna Reynolds, have two young daughters and reside in Oxford.
WHY CLI?
I am a relatively new employee at the University of Mississippi since I started in the beginning of 2025. It has been such a joy to join the University in my current role, so it is my hope to develop greater – and lasting – leadership skills to maximize the impact I can have on this institution.
